DancEncounter is excited to present a different kind of 'cracker', this season. A Christmas Cracker is a festive mealtime tradition and table decoration common to most British households at Christmas, from working class to royalty. They are bright, fun, sparkly, noisy, funny and contain small gifts, puzzles, jokes or riddles. What better material might there be, to create a holiday variety show that features the gift of dance, the fun of the season and the various contents of a Christmas Cracker, while exploring and honoring its history. Join all local students as they bring their newly learned, original choreography to the stage in celebration of the art of dance, the holidays and time-honored, cultural tradition.

Visit A Christmas Cracker for a decorative spectacle of fun, mischief, music and dance. This one act matinee show will celebrate the season, rejoice in dance, warm the hearts of both audience members and performers and just maybe start a new tradition! Let's crack a smile or giggle together and get in the holiday spirit!

Welcome to A Christmas Cracker
Thank you for taking time to share your support of the performing arts. It is an honor to work with each of these dancers and we thank you for the opportunity. Many thanks to the dancers themselves for their effort, energy and enthusiasm, but to each of their family members too, for being part of the fabric that is woven into the experience. A Christmas Cracker concludes the Fall 2024 session and Winter 2025 will begin January 13th. As always we appreciate the management team and staff at Batavia Fine Arts Centre for giving us a professional theatre home and the DancEncounter instructors, guest artists, substitute teachers and friends that share their artistry and passion for dance. May you all enjoy a magical holiday season and a healthy, successful New Year. Please enjoy the show.
